From Here to there: Takeaways on Purpose clarity, and Momentum
The two days at the Focus: From Here to There conference left me both inspired and challenged in the best way. I came back with pages of notes, reminders, and convictions but even more importantly, a renewed sense of vision and direction. I want to share some of the key takeaways that spoke deeply to me, because I know they can speak to you, too.
A Little Encouragement Goes a Long Way
One of the first reminders was simple yet powerful: a little encouragement goes a long way. We all need it, and we all have the power to give it.
Success, Happiness, and Purpose
Success is subjective. What matters is what success looks like to you, not to the world.
We live in a culture that often defines success by titles, numbers, or what others can see. But true success isn’t about comparison — it’s about alignment. It’s about asking: What does success look like for me? For one person it may be climbing the corporate ladder, for another it may be having the flexibility to pick up their kids from school, and for someone else it might be creating impact through service. Success is personal, and that’s what makes it meaningful.
Happiness is defined by happenings. Don’t let temporary circumstances rob you of long-term joy
Happiness is often tied to circumstances — what’s going well, what feels comfortable, what’s happening in the moment. But if our joy is only anchored to happenings, then it will rise and fall with life’s ups and downs. That’s why it’s so important to anchor ourselves in something deeper: faith, purpose, and gratitude. Those create joy that endures even when circumstances shift.
Some of us plan our vacations more than we plan our life. If we can create an itinerary for travel, why not create one for our dreams?
And then this reminder hit me hard: Some of us plan our vacations more than we plan our life. We can spend hours researching flights, building an itinerary, and packing for a week away — but how often do we sit down and map out the life we truly want? What would it look like if we approached our goals, dreams, and vision with the same intentionality and detail as planning a trip?
At the heart of all of this lies the biggest question we must each answer: What is my purpose in life or in this season?
For me, I know that my purpose is to serve, support, encourage, educate, and help people heal, transform and grow strong inside and out. This is the “why” behind MujerFit, behind my coaching, and behind how I want to live each day. It’s not just about fitness or health — it’s about helping people especially women discover their own strength, step into their confidence, and create a life aligned with who they were made to be. My mission is transformation that goes beyond the physical, creating lasting change in body, mind, and spirit.
💭 Reflection for you: What does success truly look like in your life right now? And are you planning your days in a way that brings you closer to that vision?
Vision for the Future
During the sessions, we were asked to dream boldly and write down what we want to have in our lives. The reminder was simple but profound: what you write, you invite into your life.
Writing things down forces us to clarify, commit, and create space for those dreams to grow. It’s not about wishful thinking—it’s about aligning vision with intention and action. For me, that meant daring to dream bigger for MujerFit, my family, and my personal growth. It reminded me that vision is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. Without it, we drift. With it, we direct our lives with purpose.
The Focus Framework
The other key reminder was this: focus isn’t about doing more; it’s about doing what matters most.
The Focus Framework breaks it down into four essentials:
Forward Thinker → Always look ahead with faith, not fear. Keep your eyes on where you’re going, not where you’ve been.
Optimistic → Choose hope, even when circumstances don’t make sense. Optimism isn’t blind—it’s an act of faith that things can and will get better.
Consistent → Progress comes from small, daily steps. Momentum is built in ordinary moments, not just big breakthroughs.
Free Yourself from Distractions → Your calm creates direction. When you declutter your mind and your schedule, you create space for clarity and creativity.
The truth is, we all have the same 168 hours in a week. The difference isn’t in how much time we’re given, but in how we design it. Are we intentional with those hours, or are we letting them slip away? Focus calls us to design our days around purpose, not just busyness.
💭 Reflection for you: If you zoomed out and looked at your 168 hours this week, are you spending them on what matters most?
From Financial Vision to Reality
One of the most practical yet powerful sessions came from Regan Wigner of the National Financial Alliance. He reminded us that moving from financial vision to reality doesn’t happen by chance — it requires clarity, honesty, and wisdom.
The process begins with reflection:
Reflect on your current financial situation. Where are you today? More importantly, how does it make you feel? Stressed, secure, hopeful, anxious? Emotions reveal the truth behind the numbers.
From there, you can start to dream and design:
Define your vision. What do you want your financial life to look like? Is it freedom from debt? The ability to travel? Building a legacy for your family? Having clarity on your desired lifestyle creates direction.
Then comes intentional planning:
Identify your goals. Break the vision into actionable steps—savings, paying off debt, investing, or creating multiple income streams.
And finally, equip yourself for the journey:
Get the education you need. Financial literacy isn’t optional—it’s essential. Understanding money gives you power over it, instead of letting it control you.
Regan also shared the Wisdom Pyramid, reminding us that we grow by moving from:
Reaction → Data → Knowledge → Wisdom → Divine Wisdom.
The most important part? Ask God what lies you believe about yourself and about money. Because often, the biggest barriers to financial freedom aren’t just practical—they’re mental and spiritual.
💭 Reflection for you: What lies or limiting beliefs about money do you need to let go of so you can design the financial future you truly want?
Faith & Perspective
If there was one theme that echoed through every session, it was this: Commit to the Lord. Acknowledge Him in all your ways. Be humble. Serve with love. Remember, we are here for a purpose—and we have an expiration date.
Faith was not just mentioned; it was woven into every discussion. The reminder was clear: no amount of strategy, success, or momentum matters if it isn’t aligned with God’s purpose for our lives.
The Holy Spirit is the best counselor. In seasons of confusion, when we don’t know what to do next, we can trust the guidance of the Spirit.
G.T. Bustin reminded us: we are here to love God, love others, and love ourselves. That is the greatest calling we can walk in.
Zoom out and shift your perspective. Sometimes we get so caught up in the details that we forget to see the bigger picture of what God is doing.
Don’t be afraid to start small. Waiting for perfect resources or perfect timing only procrastinates obedience.
Never waste a good crisis. Even in hardship, there is opportunity for growth, redirection, and testimony.
Life is God’s gift to us, and our life is our gift back to Him. Every day is gift and how we use it matters.
As I sat with these reminders, I couldn’t help but think about MujerFit. My brand, my coaching, even my daily routines — they’re not just about fitness or wellness. They’re about living with purpose and teaching women to see their bodies and minds as gifts from God. This part of the conference reminded me that MujerFit isn’t just a program — it’s a calling. It’s my way of serving, loving, and using my life as a gift back to Him.
Ultimately, we are here to learn and practice love—love for God, love for people, and love for ourselves. That perspective shifts everything.
💭 Reflection for you: Where in your life do you need to pause, zoom out, and invite God’s perspective to bring clarity?
Motivation vs. Momentum
Eliza and Ryan reminded us of something that sounds simple but is sooo true: motivation and momentum are not the same thing.
Motivation is the internal process that initiates, sustains, and guides behavior. It’s what gets us started.
Activation → the decision to begin.
Persistence → continuing despite obstacles.
Intensity → the amount of focus, passion, and energy we bring.
But motivation by itself can fade. We’ve all felt that spark at the beginning of a new year or a new goal — only to see it leave when challenges come. That’s where momentum comes in.
Momentum is forward motion with purpose. It’s the strength you gain when consistent actions compound and begin to carry you forward almost naturally.
Momentum is built through:
Decisiveness → choose boldly, don’t overthink.
Daily discipline → small, consistent actions stacked over time.
Simplified focus → don’t spread your energy everywhere; focus on one thing that moves you forward.
Fast implementation → take action quickly, before fear talks you out of it.
Environment → design surroundings that push you forward, not hold you back.
Identity alignment → know not only where you’re going, but who you are becoming.
Celebration of progress → no win is too small to recognize celebrate and build on.
As Paul Martinelli put it: Momentum is like compound interest. It multiplies when we stay consistent. Once you build it, momentum begins working for you, not against you.
For me, this hit home. In MujerFit, I’ve seen the difference between women who rely on short bursts of motivation and those who learn to build momentum. Motivation gets you to the gym once. Momentum going once or twice or hitting 6-10k steps when needed makes it a lifestyle. Motivation might start your healing journey. Momentum is what transforms your body, mind, and spirit over time.
💭 Reflection for you: Where in your life are you waiting on motivation, when what you really need to build is momentum?
Words from Les Brown
“Les Brown’s words were powerful, practical, and straight to the point. Two that stood out to me most were simple but life-changing reminders:
“You don’t get in life what you want. You get in life what you are.”
It reminded me that our results are not just tied to what we hope for — they flow directly from who we are becoming. Desires alone don’t shape our future; daily habits and character do. If we want a stronger, healthier, more impactful life, we can’t just want it — we have to become the person who shows up for it every day. Success isn’t built on wishes; it’s built on alignment between who we are and what we do.“OQP — Only Quality People. Surround yourself wisely.”
Who we let into our circle determines so much about our mindset, motivation, and momentum. The people closest to us either reinforce our values or pull us away from them. When we surround ourselves with quality people — those who inspire, challenge, and encourage us — we grow stronger and stay alignened. It made me reflect on my own circle and ask: Am I letting in voices that fuel my faith and purpose, or voices that drain them?
These two truths alone are enough to shift how we live. They’re a reminder that who we are and who we walk with will always speak louder than what we want.
💭 Reflection for you: Who are you becoming — and who are you surrounding yourself with — as you step into your next level?
Words from Ed Mylett
Ed Mylett’s message was powerful, packed with perspective shifts that left me reflecting deeply. His theme was clear: success isn’t the finish line — significance is.
“Perfect does not qualify us. We’re most qualified to help the person we once were.”
So often, we wait until we feel “ready” or “perfect” before we step into our calling. But our imperfections and past struggles are exactly what qualify us to help others. The version of us that has overcome, learned, and grown can light the way for someone who is still in that place.“Confidence = faith + intention.”
Confidence isn’t about never doubting; it’s about trusting God and moving with purpose. Faith gives us courage, and intention keeps us aligned.“Like eagles, we must learn to regenerate. Age is not a requirement for purpose.”
Eagles go through a painful renewal process to grow stronger, and so must we. Regeneration means we don’t stay stuck in old seasons — we allow God to refresh us and remind us that our age, past, or circumstances do not disqualify us from purpose.“Ask: What would I do with one more day? What will I leave behind?”
This perspective was humbling. If today were the “extra day” I was given, would I live it fully, love well, and focus on what matters most?“Success is about getting. Significance is about giving.”
Success may fill your life, but significance fills others. True fulfillment comes when we use our influence and blessings to lift others.
And the simplest, yet most important:
“If you don’t know what to do next, pray.”
Ed’s words reminded me that clarity doesn’t always come from having the perfect plan — it comes from aligning with God, trusting His timing, and choosing significance over success.
For me, this spoke directly into my heart about MujerFit. Building this brand isn’t just about creating a successful program or business — it’s about creating significance. It’s about using fitness, mindset, and faith to transform lives and help women step into their God-given strength. MujerFit is my way of leaving something behind that matters, something that will keep making an impact long after the “success measures” have faded.
💭 Reflection for you: If you had just one more day, how would you use it? And are you living today in a way that reflects the legacy you want to leave?
My Biggest Takeaway
If I had to sum up the entire conference in one lesson, it would be this: when you get out of your head and into your heart, everything changes.
So often, we overthink, overanalyze, and talk ourselves out of what we’re meant to do. We wait until the timing feels right or until we have all the answers. But the truth is, clarity doesn’t come from thinking about it more — it comes from moving forward with courage and heart.
Purpose, clarity, and momentum aren’t abstract concepts reserved for “someday.” They’re choices we make daily:
Choosing to live with intention.
Choosing to focus on progress instead of perfection.
Choosing to take one small step forward, even when fear whispers that we should stay still.
Final Thoughts
Walking away from these two days, I feel both humbled and energized. I’m reminded that success isn’t about what we achieve — it’s about who we become along the way and how many lives we touch in the process.
For me, MujerFit is more than a brand. It’s a calling. These lessons pushed me to step more fully into that calling with boldness and grace.
At the end of it all, this conference reminded me that life is short, but it’s also sacred. Every moment is an opportunity to align with God’s purpose, to choose love over fear, and to live with courage.
The biggest reminder I’m taking with me is this: momentum is built, not found. It’s created through small, intentional choices that stack up over time. You don’t need a perfect plan — you just need to start, and keep going.
So write it down. Take the step. Celebrate the progress. And keep building. The future you want is created one decision at a time.
💭 Reflection for you:
How can you live today as a gift back to God?
What’s one action you can take right now that your future self will thank you for?
